Wat Up?

annafriel.jpgSpeaking of David Thewlis... this story popped up in my search and I thought it really sweet and romantic. In today's insane, virtual world just the act of writing a letter to someone, posting it and waiting a week or so before you ever hear back is probably unheard of to most younger people these days.

Perhaps while Tonks was romancing Lupin she might've quilled several love letters to her man like this...

"Anna Friel writes love letters to boyfriend David Thewlis to let him know how much she's missing him.

The British actress - who has won critical acclaim in the US with her new TV drama Pushing Daisies - is currently living in Los Angeles with the couple's two-year-old daughter, Gracie, while Harry Potter star David stays in Britain, and Anna is determined to keep the romance alive."

Dan's Innocence Leads to High Car Insurance Payments? E-mail

2008danbaftaicon.jpgAnd moving on to our next story from The Sun!

Dan sure looks happy in this picture from the BAFTAs, doesn't he?  Well, that innocence seems to be costing him, according to this new article published by, of course, The Sun.

SQUEAKY-CLEAN Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe forks out FOUR TIMES as much for his car insurance than junkie rocker Pete Doherty.

Despite having a clean driving licence Daniel, 18, has to pay 367 per cent more than Pete, who has a string of drug and car offences.

Price comparison website Confused.com came up with the figures to illustrate how young drivers with clean licences are penalised.

Based on Daniel registering his Fiat Punto at his address in Fulham, West London, and on 29-year-old Pete registering his Jaguar X-Type at his Wiltshire home, Confused.com found that their annual car insurance quotes differed by up to £3,451.69 in some instances.

Debra Williams, managing director of Confused.com, said: "It is frustrating that Daniel, who owns a modest car and lives a ‘clean' lifestyle, is expected to pay a high price for his car insurance just because he is under 25 and living in London.

"Despite Pete's rock 'n' roll lifestyle, string of convictions, and swanky Jaguar X-Type, his insurance is on average £2,690 a year cheaper than his youthful celebrity counterpart, predominantly because he is nearly a decade older.

"Daniel needs to avoid falling foul of typical teenage misdemeanours, such as speeding and driving without due care and attention.

"Keeping his licence clean and making sure he builds up his no claims bonus, will definitely enable Daniel to reap the benefits in the next few years."

Points of interest noted by our brilliant webmiss include:

That the article never does say they checked that his insurance was what they printed it to be.

That the article never says that he does indeed own a Fiat Punto.

You know, I do remember reading that Dan said in a Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix press junket interview that he would never buy a Fiat Punto.  He was of course refuting a tabloid rumor that he had bought a Fiat Punto...

Yes, this is  just a fictional article based on hypothesis that was spun to appear to be the real deal.  Obviously a misleading article -- intentional or unintentional is up to you of course, and very likely what your opinions are on The Sun being an exemplary pillar of truthful reporting!

Is it just me, or does it seem like the tabloids really have gone to town on Dan now that he's 18 and fair game?  It feels like there's some news story about him that could very well be 100% false every few days or every week...

I won't even bother touching the subject that just a few hours ago The Sun was reporting that Dan wasn't so "squeaky-clean" because of his apparent 20-a-day cigarette habit.  Which of course, THEY started...

What do YOU think??

Hilarious! Yes, The Sun again trying to create news when there isn't any!

It does make me wonder how much Dan does pay for insurance though. Well, does he even have a car to insure in the first place?

Dan isn't easy target for the sun. They can't find him late in bars with a different hooker every night so they have to make stuff up. If they're reaching for car insturance premiums, it sounds like they're getting desperate.
