There's more... Hubpages.com describes passages from Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows that point to clues about D's infatuation with G:
David Thewlis was also asked about the revelation to which he replied:
"The funny thing when Alfonso Cuaron directed "The Prisoner of Azkaban, the first film that I appear in, he had the idea that Lupin was gay and he described my character like a 'gay junkie.' And of course Lupin turns out not to be gay because he marries Tonks and has children."Links: Salon article - Dumbledore? Gay. J.K. Rowling? Chatty. What happens when authors like J.K. Michael Gambon, who portrays Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies (with the exception of the first Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" - Dumbledore was protrayed by the late Richard Harris), is having a riotous good time with the revelation that his character was gay. Daniel Radcliffe, in a recent television interview on the Parkinson show in the UK said, "Well, he's been camping it up around the set like nobody's business. There was a scene when Michael had to come in and tell someone how much he loved knitting patterns. He just adored saying that."
